Thank you for your interest in Occasional Excellence. Please take the time to thoroughly read our Charter and the information below before submitting an application.

<<Quality Raiding on a Casual Schedule>>

Occasional Excellence (OE) is a Mythic progression raiding guild on Area 52. We are a hardcore progression guild on a casual (8 hour) schedule that believes in raiding smarter, not harder. We are one of the Top 3 two-night guilds in the US and one of the most time-efficient raid teams in the world.

If you have strong situational awareness, know your class inside and out, and enjoy raiding in a friendly environment, OE might be the place for you! Check us out at Alternatively, contact Babylonius (Babylonius#3431), or any of our members in game with any questions.

<<Raid Schedule>>

OE-Midweek has two core raid nights per week – Tuesdays and Wednesdays 8:00pm to 12:00am EST. We do not extend past those hours at launch or for progression.

OE-Weekend, our weekend progression team, has two core raid nights per week – Fridays 8pm-12pm EST and Sundays 7pm-11pm EST.

In addition to our Mythic teams, we are altaholics, who commonly run Flex 30 content and lots of Mythic+ on off nights. We have a standing alt run on Sunday evenings that has been successful for years and is a great opportunity to get to know some of the team. Check our discord for sign ups each week.

<<About Us>>

Occasional Excellence is a group of adult, mature raiders that share a common vision: a skilled, progression raiding environment with a reasonable raiding schedule. We take raiding seriously and progress quickly, but we refuse to lose sight of what’s truly important – having fun and maintaining balance. We are an all adult guild, 18+ required/21+ preferred. We have grown up together playing WoW, with an average age of late 20s/early 30s.

OE guild members are working adults and act like adults. We treat each other with respect, and in doing so, earn it. From the raid leader down to trial members, you can expect a calm, cool, and collected demeanor and a respectful tone at all times. If you enjoy linking meters and raging at team members during progression, then this guild is NOT for you. If you thrive with a bit of constructive criticism and understand that raiding takes a whole team, not just one elite dps/tank/healer, then keep reading!

OE is a guild comprised of skilled raiders who are experts on their preferred class and often many other classes. We are proud to have several class leaders, gaming journalists, SimulationCraft class experts, and MDI finalists on our roster. We expect our raiders to remain current with their theorycrafting and to min/max in every reasonable way. Our raiders have strong situational awareness and are always looking for ways to improve.

The combination of this talent and significant preparation before raid has led to a long history of successful raiding, both as a team and as individuals. We consistently progress faster than guilds with almost double our raid hours and many of our core raiders consistently rank in the top 1% of their class on Warcraft Logs, with several regularly placing in the Top 50 parses worldwide.

While we only have two required raid nights, OE is a very active guild on off nights. Our members can be found in Discord chatting, participating in alt raids, running 5 man content, completing achievements, or doing PvP any night/day of the week.

From our experience, we can honestly say that Occasional Excellence is probably unlike any community you have ever been a part of. If it sounds like it might be for you, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us via the website, in game, or on our Discord server. We look forward to meeting you!

<<Application Process>>

If you’ve made it this far, then you’re one step closer to calling Occasional Excellence your new home; now you want to fill out the application. Before you do that, make sure that you join our Discord server as we use a bot that will ensure that you have access to the application’s special channel that is created for you. **Don’t fail this step, it’s a bad first look** If you fail this step, we likely won’t consider your app or communicate with you in any way.

The final step before the actual application is to understand some important facts:

  • Raid spots on both our raid teams are limited and highly competitive.
    • If you’re behind the team in gear, experience, or performance on logs, it will be very difficult to be considered for a spot.
  • Our raid teams are independent
    • It is not “main raid” and “second team”.
    • Both teams have their own schedule and high standards.
    • One team is not a stepping stone to the other.

Now, you’re ready to fill out the application. Be sure to be thorough and take your time, this is the first impression you will make with the guild and its members.

After the application is submitted, if you did it right, a channel will be created, automatically, on our Discord. This is where you can ask us questions, and we will communicate with you about your application.

If your application meets our expectations, we will look to schedule an interview. Our interviews are unique in that they are open to all members of the guild to take part in. This is because community is important to us, so we want to give everyone an opportunity to meet, talk with, and hear, any new applicant we decide to interview. It can be daunting at first, but is frequently an event that people reminisce about for their time with the guild.
